What is Esports?
Esports, or electronic sports, are competitive video games played in a structured,
team-based environment. Like traditional sports, they require skill, strategy, and
teamwork—just in a digital arena. At ECU, Esports is more than just gaming. It’s a
full athletic experience with opportunities to compete, travel, work, and grow in
a fast-growing industry.
Who Can Join?
To be eligible to compete with ECU Tiger Esports you must:

Be a Full-time ECU student (12 hours Undergraduate, 9 Hours Graduate)

Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA

Be in good academic standing
Scholarships & Tuition Waivers
Varsity Esports athletes may qualify for tuition waivers. To be eligible, you must:
- Be an Oklahoma resident

Be enrolled full-time at ECU (12 hours Undergraduate, Graduate students are not eligible)

Maintain a 2.50 Cumulative GPA

Be in good academic standing
About Our Program

Team Size: 63 active players across 12 teams (Fall 2025)

Leagues: Compete regionally in the Great American Conference (GAC) and nationally
in the NECC, ECAC, and CLOL

Winnings: We have 2 National Championships and 1 Regional Championship

Travel: Opportunities available for select events and tournaments

Student Jobs: Positions in broadcasting, social media, team management, and event
support

Community Involvement: We host events for grades 7–12 and work with local nonprofits
like Youth Connect Club, United Way, OKSE, OESL and STEMPact Ada to support Esports
growth in Oklahoma
